Newly acquired Haoxi Wang scored a goal and added an assist in his first IceDogs game in a 4-2 win in Sudbury Friday night.
Hayden Reid scored the only goal of the opening period. His 7th came on an unassisted snap shot through a maze of bodies in a a period where Sudbury doubled the visitors from St Catharines 10-5 in shots.
The opening five minutes of the second saw the Wolves take a 2-1 advantage with goals on the power-play and at even strength. Wang's blast from the point came at 16:16 and sent the two teams into the second intermission tied at two. Krys Barch's side held a `10-9 edge in shots.
Before the third was a minute old, Ryerson Edgar would tip home a Riley Patterson shot for the eventual game winner. Ryan Roobroeck extended his season high point streak to 13 with the empty net tally in the final minute.
Vladislav Yermolenko stopped 31 Sudbury attempts for the win. The IceDogs replied with 20 shots of their own.
The IceDogs weekend ends with a trip to the Soo Saturday night. The pre-game on New Country 89.1 kicks things off at 6:45.
