With the back-to-school season about to begin, the Township of West Lincoln is reminding drivers to slow down, stay alert, and respect new traffic measures designed to improve safety in the community.
On Townline Road, between Canborough Street and Harvest Gate, Niagara Region has designated a community safety zone.
In August, new signs were installed lowering the speed limit in front of Smithville Christian High School from 50 km/h to 40 km/h. This reduction is permanent and applies at all times.
An automated speed enforcement camera at this location will also go live in September.
Both changes are part of Niagara Region’s Vision Zero plan, which works toward eliminating traffic-related injuries and deaths.
