Victim in pedestrian collision in Pelham dies in hospital, police still searching for truck

Niagara Regional Police are continuing their investigation into a collision in Pelham.

Officers were called to the area of Welland Road and Effingham Street around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12. 

Investigators are asking to speak with the driver of a white Dodge Ram pickup truck that may be connected to the incident.

The cyclist involved, a 53-year-old Pelham resident, later died from their injuries in hospital on Friday, August 15.

Detectives are appealing for dashcam, cellphone, or surveillance footage recorded between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. along Welland Road, between Effingham Street and Haist Street, that may show the white Dodge Ram.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
