
Assaults happened on May 5 and May 11
Niagara Regional Police are investigating two separate assaults involving the same adult female victim in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
The first incident occurred on May 5 around 9:20 p.m. while the woman was walking her dog along a pathway near Niagara Stone Road and Henry Street. Police say she was approached from behind and physically assaulted by an unknown man, but managed to escape without physical injuries.
A second incident took place on May 11 at about 10:00 p.m. in the backyard of the victim’s home in the Homestead Drive and Frontier Drive area. Once again, she was attacked from behind by an unknown man and was able to get away. The suspect fled the scene on foot.
The first suspect is described as male with a lean build and dark clothing. In the second case, the suspect is described as about 5'10" tall with an average build, wearing black clothing.
Police are asking residents, businesses, and visitors in the area to check any surveillance, dashcam, or cellphone footage from May 5 between 8:30 and 10:00 p.m., and May 11 between 9:00 and 11:00 p.m. Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives.
