Sunset Beach Renovation Project starts Tuesday

The City of St. Catharines will begin work next week on the long-awaited Sunset Beach Renovation Project, marking the start of construction to realize the Sunset Beach Community Vision.

Effective September 2, Sunset Beach will close to the public as the site transitions into an active construction zone.

The $6.9-million project, supported by $4.4 million from the Province of Ontario’s Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program, will deliver modernized park amenities, improved accessibility, and measures to address challenges such as fluctuating water levels and extreme weather.

During the closure, parking passes valid through September 30 will continue to be accepted at Lakeside Park, though the Sunset Beach lot will be unavailable after September 2.
