Premier Doug Ford has shuffled his cabinet as Ontario prepares for a prolonged trade war with the United States.

Ford says the changes are aimed at protecting workers and businesses while building a more competitive and resilient economy.

The new cabinet has several changes, including former Olympic rower Brian Saunderson taking over as Minister of Sport and a new Associate Minister of Artificial Intelligence Adoption.

The government says that role will help businesses adopt new technology, boost productivity and prepare workers for jobs of the future.

Ford says his renewed cabinet will focus on moving major projects ahead faster, cutting red tape, attracting investment and lowering costs.

He says Ontario is preparing for the long haul and wants the province to come out of the current trade fight stronger than before.
