Police in Welland investigating fatal collision involving pedestrian

Niagara Regional Police are investigating a fatal collision in Welland.

On Sunday, August 24, at around 11:00 p.m., officers responded to the area of Niagara Street and Roger Drive after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.

Police determined that a silver Honda Civic was travelling south on Niagara Street when it collided with a 73-year-old man. The pedestrian later died from his injuries.

Detectives are asking anyone with dashcam, cell phone, or surveillance footage recorded between 10:45 p.m. and 11:10 p.m. in the area to contact police.
