Police identify potential witness in Lincoln hit and run, homicide unit conducting investigation

Niagara Regional Police are looking to speak to a witness of an incident at Charles Daley Park in Lincoln.

Police say on Friday, 82-year-old Larry Pearce was struck by his own Honda CRV before it took off without stopping. The CRV is grey in colour with Ontario licence plate 24FS30. It has become known to investigators that the vehicle is equipped with two roof racks at the time it was taken. Detectives are actively working to locate it as part of the ongoing investigation.

The vehicle was last seen entering the QEW Niagara-bound from Seventh Street at approximately 9:44 a.m. and remains outstanding.

Since then, the NRPS homicide unit has taken over the investigation - naming 50-year-old Davy Rocchetti as a witness.

Rocchetti has outstanding warrants in the first instances for an unrelated matter, including Mischief Under $5,000, Theft Under $5,000, three counts of Operation While Prohibited, and Fail to Comply with Probation; detectives are asking anyone with information regarding Rocchetti’s whereabouts to contact police.

Police say if he is seen, you should not approach him - and instead call 911 immediately.

Detectives are appealing to members of the public for assistance in locating the victim’s vehicle and gathering information that may aid in the investigation. Anyone who witnessed the incident or may have dashcam, cellphone, or surveillance footage recorded between 9:35 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. on the date of the incident is urged to come forward. Police are also looking to speak with anyone who attended the park Thursday morning between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.
