Niagara Region and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency are inviting residents to take part in a free event during Tree Check Month.
The public workshop will be held this Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Glenridge Quarry Naturalization Site pavilion, with on-site parking available.
The event will include a guided walk where participants learn how to spot early signs of tree pests and diseases, such as small holes in bark, sawdust at the base of a tree, or premature leaf loss.
Local experts will also share tips to help protect community greenspaces and the urban forest.
