Arrest made in Niagara Falls sexual assault

The Niagara Regional Police Sexual Assault Unit is extending thanks to the public for their quick response in helping identify a suspect involved in a sexual assault investigation.

On August 27, around 5:00 p.m., a youth male was groped by an unknown adult while shopping with his mother at a store in the Town and Country Plaza on Portage Road in Niagara Falls.

Following tips from the community, detectives identified the suspect as 26-year-old Bertan Isik of Niagara Falls.

He was arrested on August 28 in the vicinity of the incident and has been charged with one count of Sexual Assault.
