What's Good in Niagara? NFPL a 'perfect match' for new EarlyON locations

As reported earlier this week, Niagara Region and Niagara Falls Public Library are partnering to bring EarlyON Child and Family Centres to local library branches in Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Known for providing engaging programs for children and families, the Library will now offer free EarlyON programming for kids aged 0 to 6 and their caregivers.

Director of Children's Services with Niagara Region, Satinder Klair, says when looking at proposals for new sites - the library stood out.

In April, it was announced that three EarlyON Centres located at Mary Ward Catholic Elementary School, St. Michael Catholic Elementary School and the MacBain Community Centre would be winding down operations in August with services moving to new locations.

With the Niagara Falls Public Library, five EarlyON locations will be opening - including four in Niagara Falls and one in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Niagara Falls Locations:

  • Victoria Avenue Library, 4848 Victoria Avenue
  • Stamford Centre Library, 2-3643 Portage Road
  • Community Centre Library, MacBain Centre, 7150 Montrose Road
  • Chippawa Library, 3848 Main Street

Niagara-on-the-Lake Location:

  • Niagara-on-the-Lake Library, 10 Anderson Lane

Library Chair Anne Andres-Jones says they're proud of the work they've already done with youth, and this should only strengthen that moving forward.

The new centres are set to open by early September.
