Volunteer Appreciation Day: Michelle Durrant - Port Cares

Michelle Durrant moved to Port Colborne and wanted to meet the community and help make a difference and Port Cares was an organization that stood out to her.

The organization supports members of the community with compassion, offering hope during life’s toughest moments.

By stepping in when people are most vulnerable, the organization helps ease their burdens and provides the essentials they need to get by.

Michelle says the gratitude expressed by those they serve is what leaves the strongest impression.

Port Cares is one of the few organizations with the expertise, staff, and systems in place to manage donations effectively and keep operations running smoothly, made possible through strong community support.

Michelle goes on to say that the best part of volunteering is seeing the impact you have on people’s lives.

Without them, many people wouldn’t know where to go. You don’t need to give hours on end, all that’s required is consistency and a willingness to care.

Volunteering at Port Cares is open to anyone ready to share their time, effort, and compassion.
