
Short-term goal is to cut emissions by 17.9% by 2028
Niagara Regional Council has approved a Climate Change Action Plan aimed at cutting corporate greenhouse gas emissions and reaching net-zero by 2050.
The plan focuses on reducing emissions from buildings, water systems, fleet, and waste through efficiency upgrades and sustainable practices.
The short-term goal: a 17.9% emissions cut by 2028.
It also aims to lower operating costs and protect against rising energy prices.
