Niagara Region has earned the 2025 Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association for the 13th year in a row.
The award recognizes the Region’s commitment to transparency and excellence in financial planning and reporting.
A panel of independent reviewers determined the Region’s 2025 budget met national standards for clarity, policy guidance, financial planning, operations, and communication.
Acting Commissioner of Corporate Services Dan Carnegie praised the finance team’s dedication to industry-leading practices and transparency.
The award is the highest honour in government budgeting and reflects Niagara’s ongoing commitment to responsible financial management.
