Niagara Falls Council has signed off on a two-year pilot program that will offer driveway windrow and sidewalk snow clearing to eligible residents beginning in the 2026/27 winter season.
The initiative is designed for residents aged 65 and older who have a verified physical disability and meet income requirements.
The City will oversee applications and contract the snow-clearing service, with results brought back to Council once the pilot concludes.
Staff will also explore the feasibility of additional snow-clearing programs. The goal is to make winter conditions safer and more manageable for vulnerable residents.
