Ahmad scored three straight playoff game winners en route to 2024 championship
The Niagara River Lions are bringing back arguably the most impactful player in franchise history.
The team announced Tuesday morning that Khalil Ahmad, the most decorated player in CEBL history, is returning to the River Lions for the 2025 campaign.
Last season, Ahmad led Niagara in points and steals per game, while scoring three consecutive winning shots in the playoffs en route to a CEBL Championship.
Ahmad first joined the team in 2022 where he began building his resume with an array of different awards including CEBL Player of the Year (2022), CEBL Defensive Player of the Year (2023), two-time CEBL Clutch Player of the Year (2022, 2023), three time All-CEBL First Team Member (2022-2024), CEBL Scoring Champion (2022), and CEBL Steals Leader (2023).
Ahmad is set to join the River Lions on May 30th when they take on the Saskatchewan Rattlers at the Meridian Centre.
