Niagara Regional Police has turned over an investigation hat left an an 85-year-old man with life-threatening injuries.
Police say yesterday around 9:45am the man was hit in a plaza parking lot near Welland Avenue and Bunting Road. The driver remained on scene and has been identified as an off-duty NRPS officer.
Due to a potential conflict of interest under the Community Safety and Policing Act, the Hamilton Police Service Collision Reconstruction Unit has taken over the investigation.
Anyone with information or witness footage is asked to contact Hamilton Police.
