Fort Erie Town Council has taken a major step toward a greener future, approving the municipality’s first-ever Climate Change Action Plan.
Created through collaboration between Town staff from multiple departments and with input from residents, community groups, and environmental organizations, the plan lays out a roadmap to both adapt to the effects of climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
It aligns with the Town’s Strategic Plan commitment to environmental sustainability and climate resiliency.
Key priorities include expanding the urban tree canopy, enhancing shoreline protection, encouraging climate conscious gardening, investing in active transportation infrastructure, and boosting public awareness.
