FIFA World Cup countdown clock unveiled in Niagara Falls

Countdown clock ends when 2026 World Cup begins

Niagara Falls has officially kicked off the count down to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

A nearly 10-foot-tall countdown clock was unveiled by the falls this week, which will end at the start of the World Cup next June.

While there's no games for the tournament being played in Niagara, Canada is one of three host cities for the world's largest sporting event, along with the United States and Mexico.

Provincial Minister of Sport Neil Lumsden says the World Cup is a perfect way to showcase the beauties of southern Ontario, including Niagara Falls.
