IceDogs defeat Battalion in OT

Riley Patterson scored the overtime winner 91 seconds in extra time as the IceDogs dropped North Bay 2-1 Sunday afternoon at the Meridian Centre.

A closely played, scoreless first featured only 13 shots with the Battalion holding a 3 shot lead.

Period two showcased a Vladislav Yermolenko breakaway stop during an IceDogs power-play. After North Bay scored first, the IceDogs seemingly had the score evened but a Battalion challenge wiped away an Ethan Czata goal. Late in the middle period, Kevin tied things up at 19:19 with his 14th of the year. North Bay held a 10-8 shots edge.

In the third, Yermolenko had to be at his best to keep it tied. A three period total of 50 shots on goal, featured 27 from the visitors.

Home fans would be sent home happy as Krys Barch's squad  counted the only wo shots. Patterson's winner, his 14th this season, was a right wing short side snipe.

Thursday night, it's the only visit for the London Knights. The puck drops at 7 and the pre-game begins at 6:45 on New Country 89.1.
