The Canadian Union of Public Employees says its flight attendants have reached a tentative agreement with Air Canada, halting a strike that impacted travelers across the country.
The union had criticized the airline’s earlier wage offer, which included a 38 per cent compensation increase over four years, calling it insufficient.
A key demand was pay for boarding and other duties not currently covered.
CUPE says agreement marks progress for workers, while easing pressure on Air Canada and its Rouge affiliate, which serve about 130,000 passengers each day.
