
The union representing Air Canada flight attendants says its members plan to strike this weekend, with a walkout possible as early as Saturday morning.
The Canadian Union of Public Employees issued the required 72-hour strike notice after talks with the airline reached an “impasse.”
In response, Air Canada has served notice of a lockout set to begin at 1:30 a.m. ET on Saturday.
Air Canada also says first flights as a result of the strike will be cancelled today, with mor expected Friday before a compete grounding by the weekend. Air Canada flights operated by both Jazz and PAL are expected to operate as normal.
