Brock University has launched a more than $100-million sustainability overhaul that aims to dramatically cut emissions and modernize campus infrastructure.
The SPARK initiative, unveiled earlier this week, will reduce the school’s greenhouse gas output by 83% by 2028 and slash energy use by 60 per cent.
Backed by a partnership with the Canadian Infrastructure Bank and Enbridge Sustain, the three-year program will upgrade core systems across campus, including lighting, heating and building controls.
The project is expected to revitalize facilities, lower long-term capital costs and create new teaching and research opportunities through a campus “living lab.”
