Growing Up on the Farm: Hernder Estates Winery

Today is our first day of Growing Up on the Farm, a look into local agriculture, presented by Hernder Estate Wines, and also fueled by KUBOTA. This week, we are profiling Hernder Estate Wines.

Third generation owner Angel has been working to help bring the winery's property back to its former glory after a fire a couple years ago, which has seen her offer a number of other things at Hernder including live music and more.

Hernder Estates has become known as Ontario’s “Wedding Winery” with over 125 receptions held annually in rooms to seat up to 500 in total indoors, with 150 accommodated on the 2 patios.

Angel says hearing stories from couples that have tied the knot there always warms her heart.

Since it’s humble beginnings, Hernder Estate Wines has expanded it’s operation five fold to presently producing more than 25 varieties of VQA wines from it’s 500 acres of land spread between St. Catharines and Beamsville. Since their very first international recognition in 1995, Hernder Estate Wines have gone on to achieve many more domestic and international awards adding special recognition to the Hernder legacy.

Events this summer at Hernder's include:
July 11th: Public House (Covers of the 60s and 70s)
July 18th: The Figure Four (All request party band)
August 8th: Jonesy (Niagara-based Top 40 band)
August 15th: Simply Hip (A tribute to The Tragically Hip)
October 4th-5th: 29th Annual Craft Show in support of Community Care
